Today we were discussing our newest handmade furniture addition to the store, Craig Bayens, and how he takes wood from old buildings, that have fallen here in Louisville, and makes beautiful tables, stools, and mirrors out of them. This then lead to the topic of the artist’s colony in Woodstock NY and how they lived and  built homes from the sources around them. They were recycling and up-cycling before anybody really even knew what is was and certainly did not warrant  the cool factor of today. The homes were featured in the book Woodstock Handmade Houses, oddly enough.  pb
