This 1947 Chevrolet 3100 Thriftmaster is a half-ton example with a five-window cab which is finished in red over a gray vinyl interior. Power comes from a 216ci inline-six paired with a floor-shifted three-speed manual transmission, and features include turn signals, an AM radio, a heater, and a cigarette lighter. A carburetor rebuild, installation of a new left front wheel cylinder and brake shoe springs, a brake fluid flush, and other service items were performed May 2019. This 3100 was acquired by the selling dealer from its previous owner of 20 years in June 2019 and is now offered with a manual, sales literature, and transferrable New York registration and NYS Dealer Transfer paperwork.
.
The Advance Design pickup was produced from 1947 until 1955. This example was repainted red approximately 10 years ago according to the selling dealer, and features Nu-Vue corner windows, a chrome grille and bumpers, and an exterior mirror for the driver. The condition of the paintwork and trim is shown up close in the gallery below.
The stepside bed features stained wooden slats separated by body-colored runners. Painted steel 16″ wheels wear chrome Chevrolet hubcaps and trim rings and are fitted with wide whitewall bias-ply tires. A May 2019 service included installation of a new left front wheel cylinder, brake shoe springs, and brake fluid.
The cabin is finished in metallic gray with brown vinyl trim and features an aftermarket turn signal switch, an AM radio, a Chevrolet-branded heater, and a cigarette lighter. The steel dash houses a combination fuel level, amperage, oil pressure, and temperature gauge as well as a 90-mph speedometer. The five-digit odometer shows just over 90k miles.
The 216ci “Thriftmaster” inline-six was factory-rated at 90 horsepower. The truck features a 12-volt electrical conversion, and a May 2019 service included a carburetor rebuild as well as replacement of the throttle linkage return spring.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a non-synchronized three-speed manual transmission with a floor shifter. Additional photos are provided in the gallery to detail the suspension, drivetrain, bed, and frame.
An owner’s manual and period sales brochure are included in the sale along with an invoice for the May 2019 service. Detailed videos are viewable below.
