20 Random Facts About Koyama Keiichiro NEWS

Afte posting about Masuda Takahisa’s random facts, this time I will post about Koyama Keiichiro. Koyama is the oldest on NEWS and sometimes is considered as the leader. Koyama doesn’t really has many work on dorama or movie, but I really enjoy seeing him become announcer or MC on many variety shows or TV program.

Well, without further a do, here’s some random facts about Koyama Keiichiro.

 

1. His Early Days on Johnny & Associates

Koyama entered JA on 2001 when he was around 16 years old. He danced a lot for his senpai Kinki Kids, Arashi, and Tackey & Tsubasa. Before debutted as NEWS, Koyama was on K.K Kity along with Kato Shigeaki. According to Tegoshi Yuya, Koyama was symbol K for KAT-TUN, but it turned out Kamenashi Kazuya is the symbol K.

Koyama mentioned that if he didn’t debut when he was 20 years old, he would quit Johnny’s and became a normal bussinessman. LOL.

2. He and His Family

Koyama was raised by his single mother after their parent got divorced. He also has one older sister. On News Na Futari (2017/01/27) Koyama confessed that his father was violent man and the reason his parent got divorce was because DV (Dosmetic Violent). Koyama who saw his mother got beaten by his father, develop hatred feeling toward his father. But after many years and Koyama became an adult, he finally met up with his father and gradually forgive him.

Koyama’s mother runs a ramen shop and when NEWS had long hiatus, Koyama helped his mother. He was so depressed that time, but thanks to his mother he remains strong.

Koyawa often says that he loves his mother so much and will always try his best to make his mother happy. Awwww

3. He and His Mother

Koyama is really close with his mother. Koyama describes his mother as cool and funky person, but also really care and love him. Every Sunday night, his mother will come to Koyama’s apartment and make a dish or sncak for Koyama and his friends. His mother is so close with his friends, because when Koyama isn’t home, his friends still come and drink with his mother. LOL

His mother also arrange Goukon Party /合コン or mixer party (kinda like a blind date) for Koyama and his friends. She really worries about Koyama love life and all his friends are also single. His mother often invites young girls around and simply ask Koyama and his friends to come. LOL.

Koyama feels sorry to his friends due to his mother act, but it seems that all his friends are okay about that.

Btw, none of the goukon party were succssed. LOL!

 

4. He and Education

When he entered JA, Koyama was high schooler and  it was pretty hard day for him. Everyday before going to school, Koyama who had blonde hair that time had to dyed his hair into black because his school banned hair color and actually didn’t permit their student work on entertaiment.

After finished high school, Koyama enrolled to Meiji University and got his degree on Geography (Asian History Major) which is pretty difficult major to get in. This major only pick 3 students every year to get in. WHAT???

Koyama mentioned that those time was so hard him because he was so busy with NEWS while working his thesis. Koyama said it was worth it.

 

5. He and NTV

Koyama already became an icon for NTV (Nippon TV) after joined News Every 8 years ago. On 2007, Kitagawa Johnny said that Koyama should become an announcer because he had talent on it. And finally three years later, NTV had an offer for announcer and Koyama got the job as News Caster on News Every.

Koyama even has business card for NTV and he feels that he already became an normal office worker whenever he goes to work on NTV.

When NTV staff offered Koyama a desk on the office, Koyama politely refused it. For announcer, having  their own desk is like rare thing and it considers as privilage.

6. He and Private Life

Koyama confessed that he doesn’t have any friend in entertaiment world. Due to his career as caster, he rarely take roll on dorama, movie, or stageplay, that’s why he doesn’t really know other artist. All his friends are mostly announcer, salaryman, businessman, and also lawyer. LOL. His close friends are 3 doctors and one lawyer. Even their job are so different, they support each other.

They often hangout on Friday Night (穴金) where mostly salaryman or office worker on Japan finish their work early to do party, hangout, or just simply take a rest. Koyama often come to Izakaya with his friends and in Sunday Night, his friends often come to his house to drink together.

7. He as Caster

Becoming caster for many years, make Koyama feels that he isn’t idol, people often say that Koyama has more charm as caster than an idol. LOL.

Being caster is actually pretty hard for him, Koyama should study many things for hours before delivering his report on TV.

8. He as Leader

I don’t know if it’s offical or not, but Koyama often take leader position in NEWS. Shige and Tegoshi mentioned that Koyama is perfectly as leader because Koyama is very considerate to other. Tegoshi said that Koyama can adapt with  any kind of people and any kind of workplace. Koyama often becomes spokesperson when NEWS had interview or conference press.

9. His Good Habit

Koyama is very considerate person to other, especially to NEWS.

When Koyama and Tegoshi were on the same car, Tegoshi played a club music meanwhile Koyama was so sleepy and actually he wanted to listen something peacefull.  But it seems that Tegoshi couldn’t read the mood. Koyama couldn’t help but enjoyed the music and he slept anyway. Meanwhile, when Tegoshi was sleepy, Koyama switched off the music and listen the song by using earphone. LOL.

Massu who hates heating machine, always let the car in cool (nearly cold) temprature. Koyama didn’t complain anything even he was so frozen out.

Koyama also likes something clean (kirei-suki) but not to extreme like Massu. When he entered his apartment, he will take off his clothes, and make sure he doesn’t bring any dirt to his house.

10. His Bad Habit

Every year, Koyama always got sick in early days of the year. He often get flu because around that time was pretty cold in Japan. It seems that Koyama often forget to close his window and to wear jacket or warm clothes. LOL

 

11. His Likes

Koyama likes sweets a lot. He can eat many sweet things in the same time.

Currently, he is addicted with bonsai and bought them recently.

 

12. His Dislikes

He hates bitter thing like detox juice.

13. He and Cats

Koyama is really fond of cats and actually has cats on his house. He named his cat as “Nyanta” and actually made a song about Nyanta on Neverland album.

14. He and Marriage

Koyama said that he want to marry someday, the fact that he is already over 30 makes those will becomes stronger. He wants to held a big party for his wedding and invite all his friends, kohai, and senpai who already take care of him for many years.

If one day his son tell him that he wants to join Johnny’s, Koyama will be confused and troubled because he doesn’t want his own son feels his pain and his sacrifise when become a Johnny’s . Also he will tell his son that joining Johnny’s will make him loose his time with his family on christmas and new year because they always perform on Johnny’s Countdown every year. LOL.

Koyama likes child and I think he will become a good father.

15. He and Transformation

When he auditoned for JA, Koyama actually come with his blonde hair and pierced his ears. He thought that being Johnny’s was should be blonde and piercing. Kitagawa Johnny then said to Koyama that it wasn’t suit him. LOL.

On his Junior days, Koyama keep his hair blonde and actually pretty flashy with his fashion item.

But after being news caster, Koyama changes his fashion style little bit. As caster, he should dress nicely and any accessories are prohibited. He also dyed his hair into dark brown and keep his hair short.

I think Koyama is way look cooler this way than he used to.

16. He and NEWS

Koyama said that he will start crying when he had to talk about NEWS.

There was a time when Koyama couldn’t use Koyama Keiichiro as NEWS member when he went to work due to NEWS’s crisis. That’s was pretty hard time for Koyama because he felt that he lost his own place to go home. He then asked Tegoshi, Shige, and Massu to talk about NEWS and they decided to remain as NEWS with four member.

Koyama got purple color in NEWS and become symbol N for Newscaster.

 

17. He and Kato Shigeaki

Koyama and Shige are pretty close both at work and at private. They work together and NEWSな２人 where they both talk about global issue around Japan or the world. Koyama and Shige often be paired and they were called “KoyaShige”. They are known as duo intellegence from Johnny’s.

On Koyama birthday (2017), he and Shige spent time together by drinking on certain bar. Then Shige come along to Koyama’s new apartment to continue drinking. When Koyama went to toilet, Shige signed Koyama’s kitchen counter with his own signature. LOL.

18. He and Tegoshi Yuya

Tegoshi does so much prank on Koyama and often forces Koyama to do something weird. Koyama is the most tolerable person toward Tegoshi. When Koyama cooked cup ramen and leave it for washing his hand, Tegoshi put an-pan (sweet bean bread) on it. Tegoshi also put umeboshi on Koyama drink when they were in the middle of concert. Tegoshi also ever slipped his dirty pansu on Koyama’s bag when they finished working together. LOL.

On certain countdown concert, Tegoshi and Massu were asked to dance for Andalusia which so popular among Johnny’s talent. All NEWS member were a big fan for Andalusia, except Tegoshi who didn’t know anything about that. Tegoshi then asked Koyama to take his place and Koyama did it. While Koyama tried his best at rehearsal, Tegoshi was playing game at backstage. LOL.

 

19. He and Sakurai Sho

Koyama entered JA because he is a big fan for Sakurai Sho (嵐), he was also inspired by Sakurai to take higher level education and actually got the same career path as News Caster. Koyama also respected Sakurai a lot. Once Koyama got mail from Sakurai who said that the chief color that Koyawa wore was wrong. When delivering News Every, Koyama wore a flashy chief and Sakurai thought that it wasn’t suited for news program.

20. His Ideal Girlfriend (Wife)

Koyama said that his ideal wife is probably like Tegoshi who is pretty difficult but also easy to handle. LOL.

Koyama likes seeing a girl who ties her hair while she works, and it would be nice if she has long hair.
