The Dumas Police Department is reporting counterfeit $100 bills making the rounds and wants the community to be aware.

Officials said the reports have come during the past two days and two suspects have been identified but police want local businesses and residents to be aware of the counterfeits.

Here is what police say you should look for when accepting any denomination of U.S. Currency, especially the larger denominations:

  • All of the bills that have been passed have the same serial number: JE06161268A
  • Front - Top of bill only says "ONE HUNDRED", where is should say "ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS".
  • Front - Top left corner "MOTION PICTURE PURPOSES"
  • Front - Top right corner " = " marks across corner.
  • Front - Left center "MOTION PICTURE PURPOSES" printer around Federal Reserve Seal
  • Front - Bottom left "COPY".
  • Front - Bottom center "MOTION PICTURE PURPOSES"
  • Front - Right center "FOR MOTION PICTURE PURPOSES" printed in large print and "THIS NOT IS FOR MOTION PICTURE PURPOSES. IT IS NOT LEGAL TENDER" in small print.
  • Front - Right side watermark is missing
  • Back - Top of bill says "MOTION PICTURE PURPOSES" where it should say "THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA".
  • Back - Top left " = " marks across corner
  • Back - Left side missing water mark
  • Back - Bottom left "COPY"
  • Back - Center top "IN PROPS WE TRUST" where "IN GOD WE TRUST" should be
  • Back - Center bottom "MOTION PICTURE PURPOSES"
  • Back - Bottom of bill only says "ONE HUNDRED", where is should say "ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS".
  • In a real $100 bill there is a security strip embedded into the bill that runs from top to bottom at the center of the left half of the bill when looking at it from the front. These fake bills do not have the security stripe.
  • If a bill feels like printer paper it is no real money.
