本発明のカード型電子機器は、 電子部品の実装された基板と、 この基板の一方の側に 位置するとともに外部装置本体の情報授受部に接触され電気的接続がなされる端子と、 前記基板の周囲に位置するフレームと、 このフレームに接続されて少なくとも前記端子 側において前記基板を覆い外装部となる金属部材と、 前記フレームの前記端子側との反 対側にて前記フレームに接続されて外装部となる絶縁部材と、 を有することを特徴とす る。 このような構成をとることにより、 端子の設けられた位置とは反対側となる位置の 外装部は絶縁部材からなるため、 絶縁部材の部分をもって力一ドの装着 .抜去が行われ ることになる。 従って、 例えば帯電した人がカードを挿抜する場合でも、 静電気が装置 本体側に放電しなくなり、 その結果装着本体の誤動作が防止できる。 しかも、 端子側を 金属部材によって覆ってあるため、 不要輻射を抑え、 ノイズ障害などを除去することが できる。
前記金属部材は、 前記基板の両面を覆うとともに、 前記金属部材と前記基板とを電気 的に接続する導電性部材とをさらに含んいる。 すなわち、 金属部材は、 基板の G N Dに 接続される。 これにより、 外部からのノイズ障害等を確実に防止することができる。 そして、 前記絶縁部材は、 前記外部装匱本体に装着されたときに、 少なくとも外部装 置本体から突出した位置に設ける。 これによつて、 金属部材によって覆った部分が多く なり、 カードの剛性を容易に保持することができるとともに、 帯電した人が外部装置に 挿着された状態のカードに触れた場合でも、 外部装置本体から突出した位置の外装部は 絶縁状態になっており、 静電気が装着本体側に放電しなくなり、 外部装置の誤動作が防 止できる。
また、 前記絶縁部材を前記フレームと一体に形成したり、 前記金属部材と前記絶縁部 材とを一体に形成したり、 前記金属部材と前記絶縁部材とを前記フレームと一体に形成 してもよい。 このように構成することにより、 部品点数と組立て工数の削減が図れ、 コ ストを低減することができる。
さらに、 前記絶縁部材は、 外側に凸の断面凹状に形成することができる。 絶縁部材を 凹状に形成すると、 金属に比較して剛性の小さな絶縁部材の肉厚を厚くして絶縁部材の 剛性 (強度) を高めることができるとともに、 基板の絶縁部材によって覆われた部分に も半導体メモリ等の電子部品を搭載するスペースを確保することができ、 大きな基板を 使用できる。 また、 凹状にした文だけ厚くなり、 カードの挿抜の操作性を向上すること ができる。
また、 前記絶縁部材には、 内面に変形防止部を突出形成できる。 変形防止部を設ける と、 例えばカードを持った際に、 突出形成した変形防止部が基板や反対側の絶縁部材に 接触して絶縁部材の変形が防止されるため、 絶縁部材の肉厚を簿くすることが可能であ る。 特に、 前記基板の両側に配置される前記各絶緣部材に形成した前記変形防止部を、 相互に嵌合可能形成すると、 絶縁部材の変形が防止されるとともに、 相互の位置決めを 容易に行うことができる。
また、 前記金属部材は前記基板の全面を覆って配設され、 前記絶縁部材は前記金属部 材の外面を覆って設けてよい。 絶縁部材は、 ある程度剛性のある金属部材を覆うように 設けられるため、 絶縁部材の材質に選択の幅ができる。 金属部材を覆った絶縁部材は、 シート状にすることができる。 絶縁部材をシート状にすれば、 極めて容易に金属部材の 外面に絶縁部材を設置することができる。
そして、 前記絶縁部材は、 ブラスチックを用いることが望ましい。 プラスチックを用 いれば、 高い絶縁機能が得られるばかりでなく、 軽量で所望の形状に容易に成形でき、 またシ一ト状にすることも容易である。
さらに、 上述のいずれかの構成において、 絶縁部材に滑り止めが設けられたことを特 徴とする。 このような構造を備えたことにより、 被装着体へのカードの挿抜時の操作性 が向上する。 図面の簡単な説明

以下は、 本発明の実施の形態を図面に基づいて説明する。
カード型電子機器としては、 外部装置本体側に存在する情報授受部、 例えばコネクタ に電気的に接続されることで作動するいわゆる接触型のカード型電子機器であればい かなるものでもよい。
なお、 カード型電子機器として、 いわゆる P Cカードを例に挙げ説明する。 P Cカー ドには、 従前から存在する I Cメモリカード等に加え、 P Cの外部との通信を行うため の例えばファックスモデム力一ドなどの I /O力一ドゃ、 増設のためのカード型のハー ドディスク等も含まれる。
(実施例 1 )
第 1図は、 本発明の第 1の実施例による絶縁構造を示す図面であって、 P Cカードの 断面図である。 P Cカードは筐体構造からなっている。 第 1図において、 1はコネクタ であり、 このコネクタには複数の端子が設けられていて、 カードドライブを備えた P C 等の外部装置本体の情報授受部となる本体側コネクタと接触接続を行うためのもので ある。 この外部装置は、 P Cカードと対応が取れるようパーソナルコンピュータ(P C ) を例にあげる。 2は S U S等の導電性を有する金属板であり、 P Cカードの外装部を担 うものである。 4は配線が引き回された基板であり、 その基板には回路ブロックが形成 されるよう入出力用 I C 5や半導体メモリ 6等の電子部品が実装されている。 3は金属 板 2と基板 4とを電気的に接続する導電性部材であり、 本例ではパネを用いている。 他 にはコネクタを用いる等、 電気的に接続可能な導電性のものであればよい。 パネは基板 の G N Dに接続されて、 金属板と基板との電気的な導通を図るものである。 8はプラス チックフレームであり、 基板側面 (電子部品の実装されない面) の一部若しくは全体を 囲い、 P Cカード側面の外装になるものでもある。 7は絶縁シート等の電気的絶縁物で あり、 ここでは片面に粘着層を苻するテープ状部材を用いている。
P Cカードは、 第 1 3図に示したように入出力用 I C 5、 半導体メモリ 6、 コネクタ 1、 導電性のパネ 3をそれそれ搭載した基板 4を、 プラスチックフレーム 8に配置し、 その上下を接着剤のついた S U S等の金属板 2で接着固定している。 金属板は熱と圧力 を加えることによりプラスチヅクフレーム 8と一体構造となっている。 ここでバネ 3の 一方は、 基板 4の G N Dパターンに半田づけまたはパネ性を活かした圧接等の方法で接 続されている。他方は金属板 2に圧接による接続となっている。基板 4と金属板 2とが パネ 3によって電気的に導通可能なため、 例えば帯電した人がカードに触れた場合には、 蓄電した電荷 (静電気) が金属板 2に流れ、 金属板 2からパネ 3を通して基板 4の G N Dラインに流れる。 そして更にその G N Dラインから P C側のコネクタを介して、 P C 本体に流れ込む。 その結果、 P Cの動作の停止 ·暴走等の誤動作を発生させることにな o
そこで、 金属板 2の人が触れる部分を絶縁テープ 7等の絶縁部材で覆うことにより、 静電気が金属板 2に流れることを防止することができ、 その結果、 P C本体側への流れ も防止できる。 具体的には、 この実施例の場合、 P Cカードを P C本体に装着したとき に、 P C本体から突出する部分の金属板 2を絶縁テープ 7で覆っている。 なおこの絶縁 物は、 テープ状のものを用いると設置が容易であるとともにある程度力一ド自体の薄型 を維持できる。 また、 絶縁物の材料としては、 塩化ビニールなどの絶縁テープ 7になる ものであればいかなるものでも良い。 また、 この絶縁テープ 7には滑り止めの機能を持 たせても良い。 すなわち、 テープ表面にある程度の面粗さを持たせた部材を用いれば良 い。
なお、 絶縁テープ 7は、 第 1図の左右方向 (長さ方向) にてその中心線を境界とした ときに、 コネクタ 1が設定された側とは反対の領域内において、 カードの端辺から半分 以上までを覆えばよい。特に、 長さ方向における寸法が約 86mmである通常の PC力 —ドの場合、 コネクタ 1側とは相対する側の端辺からカードの中央方向に向かって 1/ 3程度を絶縁テープ 7によって覆うことが望ましい。
(実施例 2)
第 2図は、 第 2実施例の断面図である。 第 2図において、 基板 4のコネクタ側の両面 は、 金属板 2によって覆ってある。 そして、 コネクタ 1側と反対側の基板 8の両面は、 外装部を構成している絶縁部材であるプラスチック板 10によって覆ってある。 プラス チック板 10は、 プラスチックフレーム 8と別体に形成され、 金属板 2と同様に接着剤 によってフレーム 8に固着してある。 この場合も上記の第 1実施例と同様、 絶縁機能を 充分に発揮させるためにプラスチック板 10の設ける位置は、 少なくとも P Cカードを PC本体に挿着したときに、 PC本体から突出する部分、 望ましくは長さ方向の 1/3 程度は設けることが好ましい。 プラスチック板 10は、 ナイロンなどのポリアミ ド系樹 脂やポリフエ二レンスルフィ ド (PP S)樹脂、 ァクリロニトリル ·ブタジエン ·スチ レン (AB S)樹脂などによって形成してよい。 この第 2実施例においては、 絶縁部材 としてプラスチック板 10を用いているため、 第 1実施例よりより確実に絶縁を図るこ とが可能となる。 そして、 プラスチヅク板 10をプラスチックフレーム 8と別体に形成 すると、 ブラスチックフレーム 8を例えば PPSによって成形することにより、 高い寸 法精度を得ることができるとともに、 プラスチック板 10の平坦度や厚さ寸法の精度を 高めることができる。
第 3図は、 プラスチック板 10の変形例を示したものである。 上下のプラスチック板 10a、 10bには、 人の手 13によって挟持される位置と対応した部分の内面に、 変 形防止部 1 l a、 11 bが対向して突出形成してある。 また、 基板 4には、 変形防止部 11 (11 a, l ib) に対応した部分に貫通孔が設けてあって、 変形防止部 11を貫 通させることができるようにしてある。上側のプラスチック板 1 0 aに形成した変形防 止部 1 1 aは、 例えば円錐台状に形成してある。 そして、 下側プラスチック板 1 O bの 変形防止部 1 l bは、 変形防止部 1 1 aを嵌入させる孔が形成してある。 このように構 成すると、 P Cカードの挿抜時にプラスチック板 1 0 a、 1 O bが橈んで変形するのを 防止することができる。 しかも、 変形防止部 1 1 a、 1 l bが嵌合するため、 プラスチ ヅク板 1 0 a、 1 0 bの相互の位置決めが可能となる。 また、 変形防止部 1 1 bは、 S 板 4を貫通しているため、 基板 4の位置泱めに使用することができる。 なお、 :下の変 形防止部 1 l a、 1 l bは、 対向して形成するとともに、 基板 4の上下面に当接するよ うに形成してもよい。 変形防止部 1 1を基板と当接するように形成すると、 基板 4に孔 あけ加工をする必要がなく、 加工工数の低減が図れる。
第 4図は、 プラスチックフレームの他の実施例を示したものである。 このプラスチッ クフレーム 8は、 図の上下の内縁部に金属板 2とプラスチック板 1 0とを配置するため の段部 1 2が形成してあるとともに、 さらにその内側に基板 4を配置するための段部 1 4が設けてある。 また、 プラスチックフレーム 8は、 金属板 2とプラスチック板 1 0と の境界部と対応した位置の幅方向に、 段部 1 4間に渡したビーム 1 6がー体に設けてあ る。 このように構成することにより、 プラスチックフレーム 8の剛性が向上し、 寸法精 度をより高めることができる。
(実施例 3 )
第 5図は、 第 3実施例を示したもので、 コネクタ側とは反対側に位置する外装部であ る絶縁部材をプラスチックフレーム 8に一体形成した実施例である。 すなわち、 第 5図 に示した P Cカードは、 プラスチックフレーム 8がカードの上下面、 つまり外装部分に まで延長して設けた構造となっている。 このようにプラスチックフレーム 8によって絶 緣外装部 1 8を形成すると、 第 2実施例より強度的に優れ、 かつ確実に絶縁可能なカー ドを提供することができ、 また部品点数と組立て工数とが減少してコス卜の低減を図る ことができる。 なお、 プラスチックフレーム 8を更に延長させて、 カードの上下面全面 が外装となるようにプラスチックを上下全面に設けてもよい。 第 6図は、 第 3実施例の変形例を示したものである。 第 6図に示された P Cカードは、 ブラスチックフレーム 8のコネクタ 1側と反対側の約 1 / 3が中実に形成してある。 そ して、 コネクタ 1側の両面には、 金属板 2が配設してある。 金属板 2は、 前記の各実施 例と同様に接着剤によりプラスチックフレーム 8に固着してもよいし、 プラスチックフ レーム 8に圧入したり、 力シメて固定してもよい。 この実施例においては、 P Cカード を挟持する部分が中実となっているため、 P C本体に挿抜する際に、 カードが変形する のを防ぐことができる。
(実施例 4 )
第 7図は、 第 4実施例の要部の分解斜視図である。 この実施例においては、 プラスチ ックフレーム 8が上側フレーム部材 8 aと下側フレーム部材 8 bとから構成してある。 そして、 各フレーム部材 8 a、 8 bは、 絶縁外装部 1 8がー体に形成してあるとともに、 フレーム部材 8 a、 8 bの成形時に金属板 2と一体化してある。 また、 下側フレーム部 8 bの内周部には、 基板を配置するための段部 2 0が設けてある。 そして、 上下のフレ —ム部材 8 a、 8 bは、 接着剤や超音波溶着などにより一体化される。 この実施例にお いては、 フレームと金属板 2および絶縁外装部 1 2が一体にしてあるため、 カードの組 立てをより容易に行うことができる。
(実施例 5 )
第 8図に示した第 5実施例は、 第 7図の第 4実施例の場合と同様に、 フレーム部材 8 a、 8 bの成形時に金属板 2を一体化している。 そして、 この実施例の場合、 絶縁外装 部 1 8が外側に凸の断面凹状に形成してある。絶縁外装部 1 8をこのように凹状に形成 することにより、 金属に比較して剛性の小さいプラスチックの板厚を厚くして絶縁外装 部 1 8の強度 (剛性) を高めることができるとともに、 絶縁外装部 1 8の内部に部品を 実装できる空間を確保することができ、 寸法の大きな基板 4を使用することができる。 (実施例 6 )
第 9図は、 第 6実施例の分解斜視図である。 図に示してあるように、 プラスチックフ レーム 8は、 コネクタ側フレーム部材 8 cと、 反コネクタ側を構成する上側フレーム部 材 8 d、 下側フレーム部材 8 eとからなっている。 また、 上下のフレーム部材 8 d、 8 eは、 フレーム部 2 0と絶縁外装部 2 2と金厲板 2とが一体化してある。 そして、 金属 板 2は、 プラスチックフレーム 8のほぼ全領域、 すなわち基板 4の両面全体を覆って配 置されるようになっていて、 絶縁外装部 2 2が金属板 2の外面の一部を覆っている。 こ の第 5実施例においては、 金属板 2がカードの両面の全体に配置されているため、 力一 ドの強度を向上することができる。
(実施例 7 )
第 1 0図は本発明の第 7の実施例である。
第 1 0図において、 9は絶縁物であるプラスチックフレーム 8に設けた滑り止めであ る。 その他の構成は、 上記各実施例に記載した構成と同様である。 滑り止め 9は、 例え ばプラスチックフレーム 8と一体の絶縁外装部 1 8の中央部に 体形成されている。 し かも滑り止め 9は、 他の外装部分の高さと同程度に設定しているために、 カード自体の 厚みが従前のまま維持できる。 滑り止め 9を設けたことにより、 カードを挿抜する際に、 例えば人の指との引っ掛かりが良くなる。 従って、 挿抜時の操作性が向上する。
(実施例 8 )
第 1 1図、 第 1 2図は本発明の第 8の実施例の斜視図と断面図である。
この実施例に係るカード型電子機器は、 コネクタを有しないタイプのもので、 第 1 1 図に示してあるように、 基板 4の表面に多数の端子 2 2がメツキなどによって形成して ある。 これらの端子 2 2は、 外部に露出させてあって、 端子側を P Cなどの外部装置本 体のコネクタに挿入することにより、 そのコネクタの接触子と接触するようになってい o
基板 4の周囲は、 プラスチックフレーム 8によって囲ってある。 また、 カードは、 第 1 2図に示したように、 基板 4の端子側の約 2 / 3の両面に金属板 2が配設されている。 ただし、 第 1 2図における上側の金属板 2は、 端子 2 2を形成した部分を除いて配置さ れ、 接着剤 2 4によって基板 4に固着してある。 そして、 基板 4の端子側と反対側の約 1 / 3は、 両面がプラスチック板 1 0によって覆われている。 この実施例においても、 プラスチック板 1 0の部分を把持することにより、 人体に帯 電した電荷が装置本体に流れるのを防げ、 装置本体の誤動作等を防止することができる c なお、 第 1 1図、 第 1 2図に示したコネクタを有しないカードにおいても、 前記した コネクタを有するカードと同様に、 種々の形態を採用することができる。 産業上の利用可能性
以上に説明したように、 本発明に係るカード型電子機器は、 パーソナルコンピュータ
( P C ) に装着できる着脱自在な I Cメモリカードやファックスモデム拡張基板などの I /Oカード、 力一ド型ハードディスク等に有用である。

Claims

請 求 の 範 囲
1 . 電子部品の実装された基板と、 この基板の一方の側に位置するとともに外部装置本 体の情報授受部に接触され電気的接続がなされる端子と、 前記基板の周 fflに位置するフ レームと、 このフレームに接続されて少なくとも前記端子側において前記基板を覆い外 装部となる金属部材と、 前記フレームの前記端子側との反対側にて前記フレームに接続 されて外装部となる絶縁部材と、 を有するガード型電子機器。
2 . 前記金属部材は、 前記基板の両面を覆うとともに、 前記金属部材と前記基板とを電 気的に接続する導電性部材とをさらに含んでなる請求の範囲 1に記載のカード型電子 機器。
3 . 前記絶縁部材は、 前記外部装置本体に装着されたときに、 少なくとも外部装 :本体 から突出した位置に設けてある詰求の範囲 1または 2に記載のカード¾電子機器。
4 . 前記絶縁部材は、 前記フレームと一体形成されている請求の範囲 1ないし 3のいず れかに記載のカード型電子機器。
5 . 前記金属部材と前記絶縁部材とは、 一体形成されている請求の範囲 1ないし 3に記 載のカード型電子機器。
6 . 前記金属部材と前記絶縁部材とは、 前記フレームと一体形成されている請求の範 [井 1 1ないし 3に記載のカード型電子機器。
7 . 前記絶縁部材は、 外側に凸の断面凹状に形成された請求の範囲 1ないし 6のいずれ かに記載のカード型電子機器。
8 . 前記絶縁部材は、 内面に変形防止部が突出形成されている請求の範囲 1ないし 7の いずれかに記載の力一ド型電子機器。
9 . 前記基板の両側に配置される前記各絶縁部材に形成した前記変形防止部は、 相互に 嵌合可能である請求の範囲 8に記載の力一ド型電子機器。
1 0 . 前記金属部材は前記基板の全面を覆って配設され、 前記絶縁部材は前記金属部材 の外面を覆って設けてある請求の範囲 1ないし 6のいずれかに記載の力一ド型電子機 器。
1 1 . 前記絶縁部材は、 シート状に形成されている請求の範囲 1 0に記載のカード型電 子機器。
1 2 . 前記絶縁部材は、 プラスチックからなる請求の範囲 1ないし 1 1のいずれかに記 載のカード型電子機器。
1 3 . 前記絶縁部材は、 滑り止めが設けられている請求の範囲 1ないし 1 2のいずれか に記載のカード型電子機器。
