Abstract

A cleaning device for golf clubs that can be integrated into the sole of golf shoes (Integral ClubScrub) or bolted to it by using the cleats as fasteners (External ClubScrub). It comprises a brush-like section and a blade-like pre-cleaner, similar to a windshield wiper blade. It enables the user to quickly remove mud, sand, cut grass or leaves from the golf club without carrying an extra brush or cloth while the golf bag or golf cart is out of reach.

Description

    1) PURPOSE
  • The design allows a golfer to quickly remove dirt from his/her club everywhere on the golf course without having the golf bag (towel, brush) in reach.[0001]
    • 2) DESCRIPTION
  • By utilizing a cleat, the external ClubScrub can be fastened to the sole of a golf shoe. It comprises a base plate with a slotted hole, a blade-like pre-cleaner on the bottom of the side (similar to windshield wiper blade), followed by several rows of bristles toward the top of the sole. The material can be rubber, plastic, or any other material that has the appropriate consistency without damaging the club. In order to support right-handed and left-handed players, the design is a mirror reflection so that it fits on a right and on a left shoe. The device can only be used for shoes with cleats.     • 3) FUNCTION
  • The golf player can clean his/her club by just putting it on the ground with the blade facing the golf shoe. By brushing along the clubface with the external ClubScrub that is fastened to the shoe (from the top of the face to the bottom), the dirt is removed. [0003]

Claims (3)

We claim:
1) A brush-like integral part of the sole of golf shoes with the purpose to clean golf clubs without carrying any additional cleaning brush or cloth while being away from the golf bag. It can be molded during the same manufacturing step in which the sole itself is fabricated. We call this the Integral ClubScrub.
2) The brush-like integral part of the sole of a golf shoe according to claim 1 enhanced with a blade like pre-cleaner. It is also called Integral ClubScrub.
3) The brush-like device according to claims 1 and 2 as a self-sufficient unit that can be bolted to golf shoe soles with cleats. It is called External ClubScrub.
