Description

A. GABRYSZEK.
COMBlNATION WASHING BRUSH.
APPLICATION HLED OCT. 15, I919.
Patented Nov. 9, 1920.
' L F E INVENTOR. ANDREW GHBRYSZEK ATTORNEY.
ANDREW GABRYSZEK, F DETROIT, MICHIGAN.
COMBINATION WASHING-BRUSH.
Application filed October 15, 1919.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ANDREW GAnRYsznK, a citizen of Poland, residing at Detroit, county of Wayne, and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combination \Vashing- Brushes, of which the following is a specification.
The invention relates to improvements in cleaning brushes, particularly brushes for washing floors, windows and the like.
The principal object of the invention is to provide a brush which is adapted to be supplied with water from a suitable source, particularly adapted to be attached to the spigot of the water supply for a house.
Another object of the invention is to provide a brush that is so constructed that it can be automatically set closer or farther away from the object to be cleaned.
While the essential and characteristic features of the invention are susceptible of modification, still the preferred embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 is a side view of the device at tached to a spigot, and
Fig. 2 is a cross section through the brush head.
The brush casing is provided with a nipple 11 at its-upper end into which the Specification of Letters Patent.
- Patented Nov. 9, 1920.
Serial No. 330,748.
lower end of a tubular handle 12 is screwed, the upper end of which is adapted to be connected by a flexible hose 13 or the like to a spigot 14 of the water supply pipe. The brush holder, 15 is secured to the flanged bottom 16 of the casing 10, and is provided with a plurality of apertures,17, 17, through which the water from the spigot is supplied to the bristles 18, 18 of the brush. The quantity of the supply of water is regulated in the well known manner. Rubber bodies 1919, heart-shaped in cross-section are attached to arms 20, 20 at the sides of the casing in such a manner that they can be rotated to vary the pressure of the brush on the surface to be cleaned.
What I claim is A cleaning brush of the character described comprising in combination, a flanged casing, a perforate back attached to the flanges of said casing rubber bodies, heart shaped in cross-section, secured to said casing adjacent the brushing surface and adapted to be rotated to vary the pressure of the brush on the surface to be cleaned, means for supplying water to said brush and means for controlling said water supply.
In testimony whereof I have aflixed my signature.
